Nicolaj Jensen kicked off his 2019 year by beating his former team since Team Liquid took down Cloud9 from the 2019 LCS Spring Split opener. Jensen abandoned Cloud9 this winter following three decades of support to combine back-to-back LCS winners Team Liquid. He was faced with beating his former staff in his debut game below the brand new brand--and, boy, did he deliver. Equipped with all the mid lane Cassiopeia, Jensen dominated his Cloud9 replacement Yasin"Nisqy" Dinçer throughout the laning stage. Jensen always found positive transactions against Nisqy's Zoe and managed to fend off Cloud9's mid lane gank efforts. Jensen's mid lane dominance had been combined by Liquid AD take Yiliang"Doublelift" Peng stomping bot lane, as well as obtaining a solo kill on Cloud9's Zachary"Sneaky" Scuderi. With leads to just two lanes and a high lane Sion itemized to soak up damage, Liquid were prepared to teamfight. Team Liquid readily translated their laning victory to teamfights, grabbing Cloud9 jungler Dennis"Svenskeren" Johnsen. Cloud9 tried their very best to out-teamfight Team Liquid, but time and time again, their harm has been soaked up by Jung"Effect" Eon-yeong's Sion. Team Liquid's teamfight successes awarded them Barons and turrets. These benefits slowly added up, with Liquid knocking outside Cloud9's Nexus turrets after 35 minutes. Together with their first win of the year accounted for, Team Liquid will prepare for their second game against CLG, which is set for Sunday, Jan. 27 at 4pm CT..
